Facebook Photo Printing Service

Turning Digital Photos Into Printable Memories Effortlessly!

Project Overview

Radish Photos was one of the most enjoyable projects I worked on. There was nothing like that out there, and Brian got in touch with me after he saw my open source WordPress plugins. Per his words, he decided to work with me due to the vast experience I have integrating a variety of APIs. This was a very technical project that I personally underestimated, and I was really glad to face a challenging task that stretched my technical abilities.

Company Bio

Radish Photos is a Facebook Photo Printing and Delivery Service. The concept is very simple, yet very useful. You just sign-up using your Facebook account, enter your payment information and delivery address, et voila! You receive your most popular Facebook photos on a regular basis, without even lifting a finger!

“Sam did a fantastic job on a difficult, custom coded platform. I give him credit for finding out of the box solutions and taking pride in his work with us. The code and documentation within the code is excellent.”

Brian Stevens

Founder, Radish Photos

The Challenge

The challenge was to keep the system working with a Facebook API that kept changing over and over without any notice from their part. Another challenge was to keep the background scheduler working properly with all the number of requests the system needed to handle.

The Approach

Radish Photos was built on top of WordPress, one of the most versatile frameworks out there. We used several plugins to perform the generic functionality, and wrote our custom plugin in order to fetch photos from Facebook and create print orders for each client. We used WooCommerce for processing orders and a Genesis child theme for achieving the website’s looks.

The Results

Radish Photos was able to have a world class product that they were able to sign up potential customers to instantly, and pitch to investors when it was time to scale the company. This was one of the most enjoyable projects I worked on, and Brian and the team made my experience with them very smooth.
